Urban Voids often need to be understood as missing links in something that is already in progress: the existing parts of the city are a consolidated reality that need to be deciphered in order to be filled in their blank spaces.
The infinite assembling possibilities are made from a restricted number of spans of the single component.
The openings are influenced by light needs and natural light availability, the distance from the ground and the distance from the other buildings.
Every component can rotate on a planar axis thus expanding in a third dimension and create a structural frame in order to carry the whole facade.
The possibility of numerous iterations of one single idea allows the designer to explore that same idea within a set of boundaries and through a desired set of intensities in a very small amount of time. One "coded" concept can be modified in one of its components, just like a gene in a chromosome, to explore new results.
